Invasive species—the majority of which have been introduced through human activity—are the second greatest cause of species extinction, as well as the second greatest threat to biodiversity. Despite this, youth, and their guardians, lack adequate knowledge of, and concern for, biology and earth science content relevant to invasive species. It is essential that Canadian youth be educated on the effects and management of invasive species in order to reduce their spread.
